Training & Experience
- Anna received her BFA from Yale University in theater performance and was a member of the Yale Dramat. Anna acted professionally on stage and film for 20 years.
- She moved to New York City to attend Columbia’s MFA Directing Program helmed by Anne Bogart, graduating in 2020.
- In 2020 Anna was awarded the singular Directing Fellowship in the Vocal Arts department at Juilliard, studying opera with Stephen Wadsworth and Mary Birnbaum.
- In 2021 Anna was awarded the fellowship again, and elevated to assistant faculty status, helping teach acting to the most advanced singers in the AD program.
- Anna made her opera directing debut in the summer of 2022 with the Prague Summer Nights Festival, directing Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in the historic Estates Theater in Prague, where Mozart himself conducted his first Don Giovanni.
- She's directed 2 operas at the Soo Opera Theater in Sault St Marie Michigan, La Bohème (2022) and Tosca (2023).
- As a bilingual, Anna directed an all-Latina production of Enfrascada by Tanya Saracho at CCNY in Spanish/English (2022).
- Anna has devised two productions for the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph in Brooklyn, Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610, (dedicating it to the Virgin of Guadalupe, 2022) and Dreamscapes (a visual exploration of music by Arvo Pärt and Cecilia McDowall, 2023).
- Anna was adjunct faculty at Montclair State University, teaching acting to their opera singers and directing their highly acclaimed winter operas, Puccini's Gianni Schicchi & Michael Ching's Buoso's Ghost at the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair University (2023).
